Is Marketing Good?

What is the role of the marketer?

  1. To amplify consumers’ desire to consume to match companies’ capacity and ambition to sell and produce?

or

2. To connect fundamental and eternal human needs to the products and services offered by the market?

or

3. To align to and support a greater purpose beyond the needs of the individual, because production is in excess of critical demand (age of consumerism)?

Marketing can be used for either. It is a choice.
